Haruna Luna - 空は高く風は歌う Sora wa takaku Kaze wa utau

The sky is high, the wind will sing. This is the ending song for Fate/Zero season 2. As with all the Fate/Zero songs so far, the lyrics touches on sadness and a journey to change things.
 With the episode that just aired, we got a glimpse (ok maybe not, it WAS a full episode) of kiritsugu's past. We found out what made him the way he is now and that he was a kind little boy before the incident happened. With that, his whole perspective of the world and the people that lived in it changed. Yet, he still wants to save the world albeit in a more drastic way abandoning the pretty things like "chivalry" and "playing fair".

Kalafina - to the beginning

Haven't posted for a while but now that the new anime season has started, I should be doing more translations. This time, it's a song by Kalafina for Fate/Zero's second season. The three ladies are known for their impressive vocals and are no strangers to anime songs. They have previously done songs for animes like Madoka and Kuroshitsuji.
Personally, I have watched Kalafina perform live in Singapore and I must say, they sound way better live than on CDs. Not to say that the recorded tracks are bad but it's just that the talent they possess is the real deal. On a side not, they have very pretty music videos too so be sure to check that out as well.
To the beginning shares the same vibe as most of their other songs. Astounding vocals and harmonizing. With regards to Fate/Zero, the lyrics portray this beautiful yet tragic end. I didn't read Fate/Zero's visual novel so I don't know what is to come but I am not expecting it to be the happiest ending.

LiSA - Oath Sign

LiSA, an acronym for Live is Smile Always. Making her debut as yui's singing voice in the anime Angel Beats, LiSA has taken the world of anisongs by storm.
Her next collaboration with anime is the song Oath Sign, the opening song of the anime Fate/Zero. I first heard the full version of this song live at the annual Anime Festival Asia held in Singapore. The energy LiSA had along with the live band members was something constantly pulsating throughout the audience. It was definitely a performance to remember. For those interested, the performance can be found on the internet as nico nico douga was streaming the performance live.
Oath Sign basically describes the feelings of the people involved in the Holy Grail War in the anime Fate/Zero. A battle of survival between sorcerers and their servants who are ancient heroes manifested with their mana to serve them. The survivors of this Holy Grail War will gain the Holy Grail which grants them the ability to have any one wish fulfilled. As such, it is an impure miracle built upon the demise of others as touched upon in the lyrics.
